So, I am here with another interview in this interview series with another Pro-Blogger.
This is 5th interview in this interview series. Today, our guest is very famous Indian blogger Anil Agarwal.
I asked him so many questions related to Blogging, SEO, Digital Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, and many more!
As I just mentioned above that our guest is famous Indian blogger Anil Agarwal. If you are in the blogging world then you must know who he is!
Anil Agarwal is a very famous pro-blogger and inspiration of me and many newbie bloggers!
He offers so many courses (paid/free) related to SEO, Blogging, Digital Marketing. You can check his website for more details.
So, let’s start the interview.
For those of your blog audience who haven’t heard about me yet, guys my name is Anil Agarwal, a full-time blogger from India.
Since 2018, I’m doing full-time blogging and before that, I was doing a job in the SEO domain for 15 years.
Currently, I’m able to make $10k Plus revenue and most of this revenue is coming from the BloggersPassion blog. This year, I’m also focusing a lot on HostingMonks.com and trying to get some revenue out of our efforts on this blog.
I started working on BloggersPassion.com in January 2010. It’s been a long time now. During the first five years, I was doing all kinds of activities on this blog from my end.
I was taking care of all the contents, UI changes, SEO and monetization, etc.
I was spending whatever time I had after my 9 to 6 job. It was a long struggle for them. It took two years for me to start getting some revenue from this blog.
And after five years, I was in the position to hire someone who could help me with content-related dependencies.
I also started spending some money to improve the design and get new functionality developed.
I was reinvesting most of the money I was able to earn from the BloggersPassion.com blog.
When I started, I was inspired by the success of Pro Bloggers like Darren Rowse and Amit Agarwal. By the time I started working on BloggersPassion, Harsh Agrawal from ShoutMeLoud was an inspiration for lots of people here in India.
I have access to lots of premium SEO tools like Semrush, Serpstat, Ahrefs, SpyFu, and SeRanking.com to name a few. But Semrush is my go-to tool for all types of SEO needs.
10 Days free blogging course is launched to keep beginners in mind. This course is for those guys who want to launch a money-making blog with me.
Even though this is a free blogging course, the amount of blogging knowledge you will get out of this course will be even better than lots of premium courses in the market.
So far, I got positive feedback from 500 plus people who joined this course.
Your blog audience can join this free course from here.
Creating high-quality content for a longer period of time is the most difficult thing in blogging. This is the biggest challenge for most newbie bloggers. And this is the biggest reason due to which most bloggers face failure with their blogs.
So if you want to get success with your blogging efforts, in the long run, you should keep working on your blog for a year at least with dedication.
This is a very difficult question for me. Since I have been blogging for more than 15 years now and have seen so many successes and failures during these years. Picking just one success or failure will be difficult for me. Still trying my best.
The biggest failure for me came when I was monetizing my blogs through Google Adsense only. And one day, my Adsense account was banned for reasons which were not in my control.
The biggest success for me so far came while trying to promote the Semrush affiliate program. To date, a big portion of our revenue comes through the Semrush affiliate program.
I even did a case study around the Semrush affiliate program here showcasing how I earned more than $340,000 from a single affiliate program.
The potential to earn passive income is something I love the most about blogging. For sure, we need to put lots of effort into our blogs before expecting passive income from them.
Once you have the relevant traffic on your blog, you need to put relevant affiliate links and enjoy affiliate sales coming your way.
If you have a huge dependency on Google Search, you can correlate with me. Most of the traffic on my blogs is coming through Google search. And Google search team happens to make changes to their algorithms now and then.
These changes can have positive or negative impacts on your blog traffic. Even though I’m trying to put the best content on my blog and take care of all SEO recommendations, still it could go down with few updates.
We have to work harder to get the lost traffic back while studying the things that are still missing on our blogs.
Content writing can be challenging when you are starting.
Make the habit of wiring 500 words at least every day. Within two months, you will notice an improvement in your writing.
You will keep getting better as a writer with time and as your knowledge about the topics you are writing about improves.
So spend a good amount of time in research before writing.
Don’t proofread your contents while writing. Work on content creation in the morning or when there are no distractions around.
Stay away from social media sites, emails, or other distractions while working on your content.
Right now, most of the revenue is coming from BloggersPassion blog while selling affiliate products. We are selling affiliate products around blogging to our blog audience.
For the past two years, we are generating a revenue of $10,000 every month from our blogs.
In Feb 2020, we started creating premium eBooks around Blogging, SEO, and affiliate marketing. So far, we have sold 1000 plus copies of our premium eBooks. Your blog readers can buy our eBooks from here.
To be very honest, it becomes easy when you have a team to help you. You can take their help with different blogging-related tasks and do a few things from your end while reviewing your team member’s activities.
I try to spend six to seven hours a day on my blogs. A couple of hours before lunch and then four hours in the afternoon.
Almost one hour is spent daily in small portions in the morning and the night.
I happen to be more productive when I’m in the office.
I also take small breaks between work and use that time for walking.
That’s true, I have been very active on Quora. Your blog audience can follow me on Quora from here. Let me share you few resources here that will help them do better with their efforts on this platform:
On YouTube, I haven’t been able to create many videos so far. I had plans to create lots of videos on my YouTube channel. This is something I need to work on in the coming days. Still, I’m able to see some traffic on those videos and even happen to get an affiliate sale now and then from my YouTube videos.
For sure, Quora and YouTube can help you a lot with traffic and brand building in the long run. And whatever traffic you will be getting from these platforms is going to be high quality and relevant traffic.
It’s going to take some time before you will start getting some organic traffic on your blog. You should target long-tail keywords and go for those keywords where you see one or two new websites from your niche ranking in the top 10 results. Your content should be better than the top 10 ranked websites.
Once you have created 10X content, try to promote it to increase your chance of doing well for your target terms in the long run. Don’t expect traffic from search engines by the time you are not promoting your content and spreading words about it through relevant websites and blogs.
Apart from organic traffic, you can give a try to Quora and YouTube platforms. You should get success with these platforms in less time.
Digital marketing is too vast. I prefer writing about SEO-related topics more on my blog. I had worked in the SEO domain for many years due to which I have more interest in SEO-related concepts.
While writing content around SEO, I can share my personal experience as well with my blog audience. So it’s always a better choice to talk about the ideas you have personal experience with.
Let me share a couple of blogging goals I have in mind right now:
– Take BloggersPassion.com revenue to 15K per month in the next year.
– Start earning a regular income from HostingMonks.com. I hope to see some success by the end of this year.
– Start working on my recently bought domain BestBlackFridayCoupon.com. I will start putting content around blogging-related Black Friday deals here to start with. I’m planning to cover more categories around the Black Friday theme on this domain in the long run. This Black Friday is going to be the first test for this domain.
So, That’s all interview with Anil Agarwal. Hope you learn so much from Anil sir. Share your thoughts in the comment section below. In the feature, I will post more interviews like this.
I want to thanks Anil sir for this valuable interview and the time.
